In the latest release of UTIP WebTrader 2.20.0, a new block containing a Macroeconomic Indicator has been incorporated into the Calendar module. The event card has also been updated to show the relevant period that the published value refers to.

Macroeconomic Indicator in the Calendar

The most recent rollout introduces a dedicated «Macroeconomic Indicator» block within the Calendar module. This feature automatically displays relevant economic data for currency pairs shown in the «Watchlist» section.

The metric provides insight into which of the two countries’ economies in the selected currency pair is now more attractive for trading. The calculation is based on key macroeconomic data.

A signal of the Macroeconomic Indicator is updated in real time. Clicking on the metric opens up detailed information about macro indicators for the currency pair, allowing you to see economic events and historical data.

The Terminal Help section contains additional data on the calculation formula and potential indicator signals.

Period in the Calendar Events

We’ve added event cards to the Calendar and indicator release logs so that they now display the specific reporting period for each published economic value. This helps traders better assess how past and upcoming macroeconomic events influence market movements.

The latest version of UTIP WebTrader, 2.19.0, brings forth powerful features for market players. These include a visible news impact on the related commodities, a module with News Sentiment Indicators (NSI) set by symbols, and real-time event updates on the chart.

News impact on commodities

The news window now features an «Impact» block, displaying the affected commodities and related symbols for each news item.

Each commodity is marked according to the level of impact the news has on it:

• Positive: an increase in the commodity price.
• Neutral: slight impact on the commodity price.
• Negative: a decrease in the commodity price.

News Sentiment Indicators are derived from data showing how the news affects commodities.

News Sentiment Indicator

The News module has been expanded with the «News Sentiment» block and the corresponding indicators set by symbols, which have been added to the «Watchlist». If we scale down the block, the News Sentiment Indicator will be displayed for the symbol active on the chart.

The NSI shows an overall impact measure of how news items affect a financial instrument over a specific period. 

This indicator is determined through the analysis of the released news: each news has a certain impact level. So, the higher the significance of the event, the greater its influence on the market.

Both the NSI level and its indication are updated as news is released. When hovering over the indicator card, it’s visible how much news is included in the calculation.

Real-time event updates

We’ve also introduced real-time event updates to the calendar, chart, and event window. 

Event cards in the calendar animate to highlight new data:

• Green — the indicator grows.
• Red — the indicator drops.
• Grey — the indicator shows no change.

If a new indicator goes beyond the visible module area, a notification on new data tends to appear. Clicking the notification results in automatic scrolling and getting you back to the first unseen indicator.

Real-time updates are also applied to the event’s historical chart as soon as new data is released.
